Travel and everyday life
A kitchen in Los Angeles, European city breaks and music while cooking: the quieter details Anny Aurora shared about life between assignments.
Travelling for herself
Professional travel was already part of Aurora’s routine by 2018, but she also described exploring new places in her own time. Barcelona, Prague and Budapest were among the cities she had visited. Travelling was something she enjoyed beyond the requirements of a production schedule.
Her interest in being away did not mean she wanted every evening to be a night out. During a Los Angeles stay, she preferred having a place where she could cook. Choosing accommodation with a kitchen let her keep one familiar routine while spending time abroad.
Simple food, made at home
Aurora described teaching herself to cook after getting her own flat. Her examples were uncomplicated: a pan of vegetables with rice, or sushi. She said she did not eat much meat and often prepared vegetarian or vegan dishes, without describing a strict dietary rule.
Baking was a different matter. She remembered her mother being particularly good at cakes, while saying that she had not developed the same confidence herself. Her own enthusiasm lay in preparing fresh meals and enjoying the process of making food.
Music in the kitchen
Cooking gave Aurora an activity she could focus on by herself. She liked putting on music and turning her attention to the meal in front of her. In her account, the appeal was the simplicity of that time: there was one task to do, without other demands.
A kitchen therefore mattered even during a temporary stay in Los Angeles. Between professional commitments and the experience of being in another country, making a meal offered a small piece of ordinary life. It was one of the practical details she singled out when describing her time there.
